Dr. George (Jiri) Stehlik is a Principal Research Scientist at IBM Quantum. Dr. Stehlik received his BSc in Computer Science and Physics from Binghamton University, and PhD from Princeton University, where he studied quantum dots formed in Indium Arsenide nanowires. After joining IBM in 2016, George has focused on quantum hardware research. Initially studying fidelity limiting mechanisms in quantum gates and alternative mechanisms for creating two qubit gates. Since 2024 he has focused on research to realize error corrected quantum chips based on quantum LDPC codes. In this role he helped to define the loon architecture and oversaw the design of the loon chip.
