Kun-Lung Wu           

I am manager of the AI Platform - Performance and Scale Group at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. I am also development manager of the IBM Streams Language, Compiler, Programming Models and Research Team, IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software. The combined team currently engages in the research and product development of the IBM Streams for IBM Cloud Pak for Data -- focusing on the research and development of programming models, developer adotion and runtinme system support for fault-tolerance, automatic exploitation of multicore machines and native integration of Streams with Kubernetes in a hybrid cloud environment.  In addition, we study various research issues in how to apply AI machine learning techniques to system performance optimization and system support for operationalizing AI.

An IBM Master Inventor, I am also a Fellow of the IEEE, and a member of the ACM. From 2000 to 2004, I was an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering. I also served as an organizing or program committee member for many international conferences and workshops. I have received several IBM awards, including an IBM Corporate Environmental Affair Excellence Award, an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, a Research Division Award, and many Invention Achievement Awards. I have published extensively in various journals and refereed conferences, and received several best paper awards. I also hold or have applied for over 75 patents.
