Various uses of electronic tagging in the automatic identification industry was discussed. Electronic tags, that are simply machine-readable tags were found to identify objects at different level of details. The tags can be implemented in individual atom within a molecule by replacing it with its radioactive isotope. A tag contain a unique serial numbers and describe a generic product such as battery type. It is observed that bar codes are de facto standard for automatic identification.
