Electrical resistance, at temperatures from-196 to 700°c, was used as an indicator of crystallographic order to test the reality of certain anomalies in the long-range order in solid solutions near the composition Fe3Al, which had previously been detected by x-ray diffraction. Resistance anomalies were found in three of the five alloys tested, containing 22·9, 23·5 and 24·8 at.% aluminium, but not in the alloys containing 22·2 and 25·5 at. % aluminium.
