The superconducting transition temperature of the Bi-2222 compounds (RE=rare earth) has been measured for various RE elements and various Ce concentrations. An strong dependence of Tc on the ionic radius has been clearly observed, except for RE=Pr and Tb, where superconductivity was absence. The Ce concentration dependence of Tc in the Bi-2222 compounds for RE=Gd is also exhibited. © 1990, Elsevier Science Publishers B.V. (North-Holland). All rights reserved.
