Ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic multilayers were studied for the existence of perpendicular exchange biasing. The exchange bias measurements were performed with the magnetization of the ferromagnetic layer parallel to the antiferromagnetic interface. The interfacial exchange energies for in-plane cooling geometry were twice as big as compared to the out-of-plane field-cooling geometry.
