Aristotelis Tsirigos

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Courant Institute of New York University (with prof. Dennis Shasha) in January 2006. Then, I joined IBM Research Computational Biology Center as a post-doctoral fellow and since 2008 I am a Research Scientist.

My research focus is primarily in Computational Genomics and involves the development of statistical/computational techniques and the design of novel algorithmic methods in order to model complex biological systems and extract useful biological knowledge that will help improve our understanding of these systems and fight disease.
