I am part of the Cognitive Computing & Industry Solutions department of the IBM Zurich Research Lab. Since 2002, I am active in research in areas of computer security and intrusion detection, services and systems management. Current interests include social media analytics using big data graph tools, privacy and de-sensitisation, as well as computer security and risk assessment in socio-technical systems. I joined IBM Research in 1993, first as part of the IT group of the lab, later serving as the manager of the IT department until 2002. I received a diploma in physics (1988) at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and a Ph.D in physics (1993) at the University of Zürich, Switzerland.
