Dr. Yulieth Cristina Arango joined IBM Research – Zurich in 2016 as a post-doctoral researcher with a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, where she is a member of the Precision Diagnostics group under Emmanuel Delamarche.

Her main research interests are the engineering and fabrication of micro- and nanodevices, electronic transport phenomena, and microfluidics. Currently she is focused on the development of precision diagnostics technologies for mobile health.  

Prior to joining IBM, Dr. Arango held post-doctoral positions at the PGI-9 Semiconductor Nanoelectronics Institute at the Forschungszentrum Jülich and at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW) in Dresden, Germany.

Dr. Arango earned her PhD in Physics from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, in 2011, her Master's degree in Physics and her Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from the National University of Colombia in 2005 and 2001, respectively.

In addition to her current Marie Curie Individual Fellowship award, she has also been the recipient of an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship and an EU Alban Programme PhD scholarship.
