Nikolaos Papandreou is a Research Staff Member at IBM Research - Zurich. He received his Diploma (5-year program) and Ph.D. degree, both in Electrical and Computer Engineering, from the University of Patras, Greece, in 1998 and 2004 respectively. He joined the IBM's Zurich Research Laboratory (ZRL) in July 2008, and since then he has been working on non-volatile memory technologies and systems with emphasis on Phase-Change Memory (PCM) and Flash. His research interests and activities include device characterization and reliability, signal processing and coding for multi-level information storage, algorithmic design and HW systems prototyping. Before joining ZRL he was Adjunct Faculty Member at the Dept. of Computer Engineering and Informatics (2006-2008) and Research Associate at the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering (2005-2008) of the University of Patras.
Dr. Papandreou is a member of the IEEE and a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece. He is a regular reviewer for scientific journals and conferences and he has served as a TPC member of various IEEE conferences including ICC 2008 & 2015, ISPLC 2006-2009, WCNC 2013-2015, ICCVE 2013-2015 and GLOBECOM 2006-2015.
