Adela-Diana Almasi is currently a PhD graduate student (pre-doc) in the Energy Management group of the Systems department under the supervision of Ton Engbersen. Her main research interest is distributed systems.
She originally joined IBM as a Great Minds student intern.
She is enrolled as a PhD candidate at the "Politehnica" University of Bucharest in the Computer Science department. Her thesis topic is "Applying machine learning techniques for the development of self adaptive distributed systems". She holds a Master's of Science from that same institution based on her thesis entitled "Analysis of a Bandit Model for User Segmentation in Website Adaptation."
In 2011, Adela-Diana spent six months as an Erasmus grant recipient at the INP-ENSEEIHT (Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Electrotechnique, d'Electronique, d'Informatique, d'Hydraulique et des Télécommunications) in Toulouse, France.
In her leisure time, she enjoys painting, reading, and winter sports.
