I received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in 1993 and 1996 from Wuhan University, China, both in Computer Science and Engineering. I obtained the Ph.D. degree in December 2002 from University of Southern California (USC) in Electrical Engineering -- focusing on multimedia content analysis and management. Since March 2003, I have been with IBM Research. I was with the Exploratory Computer Vision Group from 2007 to 2011, then I joined the Service Operations and Analytics group of the Service Research Department. Currently, I'm with the Consumer Modeling Group in the Department of Industries and Solutions.
My research interests lie in: content-based image processing, analysis and retrieval; video content segmentation, indexing and annotation; multimedia applications; e-learning; data mining, pattern analysis and computer vision, service operations, management and analytics, consumer modeling and computational creativity.
