I received the B.S. degree in aerospace and mechanical engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 2004, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, in 2006 and 2010, respectively.
Before I joined IBM research, I was working as Analytics Engineers, Analytics Engineer Manager at Lattice Engines Inc., San Mateo, CA, from 2010 to 2013 in the area of B2B predictive analytics for sales and marketing. I also worked as senior data scientist at Netflix for one year with the focus of marketing optimization.
As a research scientst at IBM Almaden Research Center, my research interests are in personalization, machine learning, predictive modeling, graph mining, and the application of big data to practical fields.
