profile

I am a Research Staff Member in the Mathematical Sciences department at the IBM T.J. Watson research center, NY, working in the Quantum Algorithms and Software group. I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, which is not really in Paris but rather in Palaiseau, quite far from Paris and on top of a steep hill. Prior to joining IBM, I held visiting positions at the Tepper School of Business of Carnegie Mellon University (2 years) and at the Sloan School of Management at MIT (1 year), and I was an Assistant Professor in the Engineering Systems & Design Pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design.

My research area is mathematical optimization broadly defined. I worked in linear and nonlinear integer programming, network optimization, dynamic programming, derivative-free optimization, for transportation, sustainable architecture, engineering, and energy related problems.

I taught courses in Optimization (Combinatorial and Convex), Math (Linear Algebra, Calculus), and Computer Science (Algorithms and Data Structures, C++), at a graduate and undergraduate level. There were no reported casualties.

Somehow I am the recipient of the 2016 COIN-OR Cup with its chocolate coins (no, really), the 2015 Prix Robert Faure, the 2012 Glover-Klingman prize, and some other awards that don't include chocolate coins. If you absolutely want to know more, my full CV is available here and this is my Google Scholar profile.
