Rene Mueller is a Research Staff Member in the Disruptive Information Management Architectures Group at IBM Research--Almaden. His research interests are in areas around Big Data systems, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Business Intelligence. He has been working workload-optimized systems, including hardware acceleration using FPGAs and graphics processors, query compilation, application tuning for SIMD processors, NUMA systems, and cache hierarchies.
Rene joined IBM in September 2010 after graduating from ETH Zurich where he worked on data stream processing in wireless sensor networks and data stream acceleration using FPGAs. His advisor was Prof. Gustavo Alonso from the ETH Systems Group.
