Kang-Wook Lee is a Research Staff Member in the Healthcare and Life Sciences Department at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center. In 1982 he received a Ph.D. degree from Rutgers University. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Chemistry, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Polymer Science and Engineering Department, University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In 1988 Dr. Lee joined IBM T.J. Watson Res. Ctr. where he has worked on surface sciences, adhesion, electronic & package materials, semiconductor interconnects, and healthcare sensors. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 papers and US patents. He received IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award three times in 1994, 2006 and 2015. He was the President of Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association in 2008-2009. His current research interests include healthcare sensors and Internet of Things (IoT).
