Pavan Kapanipathi is a Research Staff Member and works in the Cognitive Systems Performance Lab at IBM TJ Watson Research Center. His research focuses on addressing real-world challenges in utilizing cognitive systems. Broadly encompassing topics in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
He is broadly intereseted in User Modeling; Personalization; Recommendation; Knowledge Graphs; Linked Data; Semantic Web; Text Mining; Information Retrieval; Applied Machine Learning; Social Data Analysis. He graduated with a PhD from Wright State University in Spring 2016, supervised by Amit Sheth. His dissertation research was on "Personalized and Adaptive Semantic Information Filtering for Social Media".
Pavan Kapanipathi has had a winning entry in the open track for the Triplification Challenge at I-Semantics. He has served as a Program Committe member of conferences such as WWW, IJCAI, ESWC, HT, WI confenrence. He is also a co-developer of open source projects Twarql and SMOB.
