I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in nanoscale science and technology at IBM Watson research center. My work at IBM mainly involves developing carbon nanotubes based logic technology and novel applications. I am also exploring various hardware approaches to achieve energy-efficient neuromorphic computing. I am an IBM Industrial Liaison for the Institute for Nanoelectronics Discovery and Exploration (INDEX), a multi-university research center under SRC's Nanoelectronics Research Initiative (NRI) focusing on new device concepts. I also served on Technical Conference Committee for CMSE 2015, 2016, 2017 and MEAMT 2017, and as guest editor for Journal of Nanomaterials. I am a member of several societies including IEEE, APS and ECS.
I received my PhD/MS degrees in electrical engineering from University of California, Los Angeles in 2014, and BS degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University in 2008. My PhD research broadly involves device and physics of low-dimensional nanomaterials, such as semiconductor nanowires and heterostructures, two-dimensional van der Waals materials, and magnetic nanostructures. I have authored more than 50 technical publications and delivered more than 10 conference presentations. I am also an active reviewer for many high-profile journals, including Nano Letters, Small, Nanoscale, Scientific Reports, etc.
