Dmitry Malioutov is a research staff member in the Machine Learning group in Business Analytics and Mathematical Sciences (BAMS) department at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY USA.

His research interests include inference and learning in graphical models, message passing algorithms; Sparse signal representation; Sensor array source localization; Statistical risk modeling, robust covariance modeling, portfolio optimization. More generally: statistical signal processing, machine learning and convex optimization; applications in quantitative finance.

Dmitry is a senior member of the IEEE, serves as an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, a guest editor for IEEE journal of selected topics in signal processing, and a recepient of the IEEE signal processing society 5-year best paper award, and ICASSP 2006 student paper award, and MIT presidential fellowship.
