profile

Atmospheric scientist with experience in environmental modeling, big data, analytics and sensors. Effective and passionate communicator of science and culture to non-technical audiences.

I'm based at the T. J. Watson Research Center developing an experimental modeling platform that simulates the atmospheric, hydrological and hydrodynamic processes at Lake George, NY as part of The Jefferson Project. The project team is responsible for environmental monitoring and management, including advanced water management and hydroinformatics systems development (smarter water). We were awarded the 2017 IBM Chariman's Environmental Award by Ginny Rommety and an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award in 2016.

In 2017, I have been a Fellow at Science Sandbox @ New Lab working on my pet project, Weather for the People; received an NSF grant in Macrosystem Biology with collaborators from The Weather Company and Rensselaer to study the effects of climate change on freshwater lakes around the USA; participated in the Imagine Science Film Festival - Symbiosis Competition; and wrote an article for Vice: Motherboard about surfing an artifical wave in the heart of Texas.
