Colin Compas, Ph.D., received his B.E. in Biomedical Engineering at Vanderderbilt Universtiy (2007) and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University (2013). During his doctoral training he worked with Dr. James Duncan in the Image Processing and Analysis Group focusing on medical image analysis. His dissertation research was on deformation analysis in echocardiography to quantify abnormal cardiac function. After spending the summer of 2010 as an intern at IBM Almaden, Colin joined IBM as a postdoc in October, 2012. He has been working with the Multimodal Mining group in healthcare on the analysis of coronary angiography for clinical decision support. His research interests focus on the use of noninvasive, automatic analysis methods to improve quantification of abnormalities associated with different pathologies and enhance diagnostic accuracy.
