Ryuki Tachibana is the manager of the Speech Technology group at IBM Research - Tokyo. He received his B.E. and M.E. in aerospace engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1996 and 1998, and his Dr. Eng. degree from Osaka University in 2007. Since he joined IBM Japan in 1998, his main research interests have been in the field of digital watermarking, text-to-speech synthesis (TTS), and automatic speech recognition (ASR). In 2003, he was awarded the Digital Watermarking Industry Gathering Event's Best Paper Award at Security and Multimedia Contents V of Electronic Imaging 2003. Since 2014, he has been working on Japanese-language Watson Speech To Text and Text To Speech services.
