Heena Bansal completed her post-graduation in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2015. She had worked in Samsung Research Institute, Noida for a year before that. After her post-graduation, Heena joined Smarter Energy Research Group in IBM Research in July 2015. Heena has been involved in Energy analysis and Energy Optimization of Commercial buildings project which led to two full publications and one short paper. She has already submitted 8 disclosures around her work in IBM, two of which have been filed and others are under evaluation.
In 2016, Delhi Pollution Control Corporation(DPCC) had started an initiative to analyse the causes and predicting the increasing levels of Particulate Matter such as PM2.5 and PM10 and certain other hazardous gases. IBM has been an active partner in this Pilot study. Heena was a part of the team working in this project which was finally chosen for RGM Excellence Award in IBM for "Significantly enhancing IBM's image in India by building models for monitoring and managing air pollution in Delhi". Heena was involved in analyzing, modelling and predicting the concentrations of PM2.5, PM10 and certain other pollutants(like SO2, O3) using data based machine learning models. Heena joined the Analytics and Mobile Solutions Group in IBM Research in October 2016. Her current work revolves around Computer Vision and Deep Learning. She has been working on Eye center localization and Eye shape registration in the wild using Deep learning techniques.
