Alexander Sorin is a research staff member of the Speech Technologies group at IBM Haifa Research Lab. Since joining IBM in 1988 he worked on numerous research projects in the areas of speech processing, document imaging and optical character recognition. In the past, on behalf of IBM he led IBM-Motorola collaboration which resulted in publishing two new ETSI standards in the area of distributed speech recognition.
Alexander is an author of numerous papers and patents. His current research interests are in the areas of speech synthesis, voice-based emotion recognition, vocal biomarkers of dementia. Participation in European research projects: HERMES and Dem@Care.
