Mr. Geva received a B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in 1997. He joined IBM as an intern in 1994 and became a full-time employee after receiving his degree. He worked on architecture evaluation of the PowerPC* SIMD extensions (VMX), on DSP (digital signal processing) programming and integration for a voice-over-IP telephony gateway and on development tools for a research DSP architecture (eLite). Since 2003, Mr. Geva has been working on projects relating to document processing and OCR (optical character recognition). He has received IBM Research Division Awards for his involvement in the VMX project and development of an LPR (license-plate recognition) engine for the Stockholm road-charging project.
