I joined the Optimisation and Control team of IBM Research Dublin in September 2015 as a Research Software Engineer. My focus as part of this position has been on information retrieval, semantics, and natural language processing (NLP) problems, in the areas of healthcare, cognitive systems, and Internet of Things (IoT).
Prior to joining IBM, I worked at the Coastal and Marine Research Centre (CMRC) of University College Cork, from 2006 to 2015. My research interests there were in the areas of geographic information systems (GIS), geospatial standards, (semantic) interoperability, Semantic Web (SW), and ontologies.
I am currently very interested in working on problems related to big data and cognitive systems.
