Giusy Di Lorenzo is currently a Research Scientist at the IBM Research - Ireland center in Dublin, Ireland.
She received a PhD in Computer and System Engineering, from the University of Naples Federico II in December 2008 and the degree with Honours (cun laude) in Computer Engineering from the same university, in April 2005. For her phd, she defined a framework for analysis and modeling of web service composition and integration of web application at data and application level. During her phd, she was Research Assistant at University of New South Wales in Sydney where she collaborated with Professor Benatallah. From 2009 to 2011, she was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Senseable City laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she was leading the AIDA project.
Her research interests include the analysis of urban dynamics and human mobility using data gathered from sensor networks, the use of Big Data systems and analytics to solve real-world problems in the telco, electricity, and urban dynamics space, and spatio-temporal data visualization.
