I am a postdoctoral researcher in the storage systems group at IBM Research Almaden, which I joined in December 2016. Before joining IBM, I obtained a PhD degree from Imperial College London. My advisor was Prof. Peter Pietzuch. I hold a MSc and BSc degree in Computer Science from Technical University Munich (TUM) where I worked under Prof. Alfons Kemper on P2P-based data management systems.
My research interests are related to scalability and performance of distributed systems. During my PhD, I worked on the intersection of data-parallel frameworks and the network. More specifically, I investigated how to integrate knowledge on the phsysical network infrastructure with the query planner and scheduler of a data parallel processing system to utilise network resources more efficiently.
