Jinyan Shao is a Research Staff Member in the Department of Business Analytics & Optimization at IBM Research - China. She is focusing on researching and developing innovative cross-industry solutions based on analytics and optimization technologies. She leads the development of key models, technologies, and novel business applications in facility network optimization and customer analytics solutions. She was the key team member to win 2007 IBM First Batch of Research Division's Award for Creation of Reusable Assets, 2008 IBM Research Achievement and 2010 Geographic Information System related awards by ESRI. She has 5 patents granted and more than 20 publications in referred conferences and journals. She received her Ph.D. degree in Dynamics and Control from Peiking University, China. Her research interests include agent-based simulation, optimization, and complex systems.
