Dr. Shenghua Bao is now working at IBM Watson Research Center as Co-Lead of Global Technology Outlook. Prior to this role, he is a Research Scientist in the Information knowledge and Interaction division of IBM Research-China. His research interests include social search and mining, rich media mining, and statistical learning. Since joining IBM in 2008, Shenghua has demonstrated his technical leadership and research capability by developing social analytics technology. He also accumulated solid experiences on research project management, customer engagement and university collaboration.
So far, Shenghua has published more than 30 journal and conference papers on WWW, SIGIR, ACL and TKDE and the total citation number is more than 900. He is very active in academic community by serving as an editor of CCF TechNews, a PC member of AINA 2009, EMNLP 2010, WSDM 2010, WWW 2012, WWW 2013, and a reviewer of IEEE TKDE, ACM TALIP, TIST, IPM, JIS, WWWJ, IJCIS, JASIST, JBCS.
Shenghua is recently elected as an IBM Master Inventor for his excellent patent application records and great contribution to IBM’s global leadership on patents creation. Shenghua totally owns more than 30 US / international patent applications.
