Reena Kapoor completed her Ph.D. in Operational Resaerch from the University ofNewcastle (2015). Her thesis is entitled “Scheduling problems arising in coal export supply chains: Algorithms and Complexity”. She worked as a tutor at University of Newcastle, University of Melbourne, Deaking University and RMIT during her Ph.D and before joing IBM in May 2015. Prior to moving to Australia, she held Assistant professor position in the University of Delhi, India for eight years on full time basis. Her area of interest are combinatorial optimization, and complexity theory. With a background in pure and applied mathematics Reena can apply her knowledge to prove theoritical results and develop new algorithms. She developed Mixed integer program, branch and bound algorithm, and approximation algorithm for the complex real world problem and can continue to apply her mathematical and computing skills across many industries.
