Dileban Karunamoorthy has been a Software Engineer at IBM Research - Australia since June 2012. He is presently responsible for managing the infrastructure to support research and development activities at the lab, and is engaged in research and development focusing on platforms for driving data-centric and time-constrained systems.
In his previous role he spent 3 years in the capacity of a Research Fellow at the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems Laboratory (CLOUDS Lab), a research group at the Department of Computing and Information Systems, University of Melbourne, where worked on and later led the development of a distributed processing and programming platform for cluster, grid and cloud environments. Prior to this he worked in the industry where he played a lead role in the development of a platform for Enterprise Document Management.
His core interests lie in distributed computing and related areas. He is primarily interested in large-scale and fault-tolerant systems, middleware, distributed algorithms, platforms for distributed processing of large data sets, virtualization, grid and cloud computing, architecture and design. He has also co-authored papers, supervised undergraduate projects, and taught students topics on distributed computing.
Dileban holds a Masters of Engineering in Distributed Computing from the University of Melbourne.
